Our Story
Serving You Since 1964
Family-owned and operated since 1964, Chesapeake Fence & Awning has proudly served the Hampton Roads community for over 60 years. We are an independent, local business, not a franchise, operating entirely from our single, original location in Great Bridge, which was updated in 1986 to better serve our customers.
Over the decades, leadership of our close-knit business has lovingly passed down through generations of our family. Today, we proudly carry on the legacy of our predecessors, including our late business partners who dedicated decades of service to this company. We remain committed to the same high standards of quality and community care that have defined us for more than six decades.

Community Involvement
Chesapeake Fence & Awning Co. is dedicated to improving our local community. We supply materials for charitable projects and are always looking for new opportunities to give back to our neighborhood. In the past, we have worked with organizations such as the Boy Scouts of America and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
We’re also proud to help keep our community greener and cleaner. On every job, we recycle the wood, aluminum, and vinyl left over from our work sites, keeping usable material out of local landfills and putting it back to good use.

Facility & Products
Our manufacturing facility offers a fully equipped wood and weld shop to custom build fence panels and gates. We stock western red cedar boards, salt treated pine boards, and salt treated pine posts and runners. Additionally we offer a full line of chain link fence wire, posts, gates, and fittings on hand at our store. We stock polyvinyl railing systems for your porch railing needs and are the premier local distributor for polyvinyl fence systems and Jerith aluminum fences in the area. Materials from these manufacturers are ordered on a per job basis.
